“Beginning of the match wasn’t that great for me. I think he broke my serve in the third game and I managed to re-break. Was a close encounter until I broke his serve at 4-3,” Djokovic said after the win.

Djokovic won 78% of his first-serve points and hardly provided his opponent any chances to retaliate.

Managed to close out the first set and the second set I started swinging through quite a little bit. Less hesitation from both corners and very pleased with the way I played; Second set especially,” the 33-year-old said.

In the post-match interview, Djokovic admired Schwartzman saying, “Good stuff from Diego obviously. He probably wasn’t playing his best during the closing moments of the first set and gave me some unforced errors which obviously allowed me to be in the lead.”

The Serb also noted how much he missed the fans at the O2 Arena, “We love you guys and we miss you guys,” said Djokovic while sending his message back to his fans who witnessed his win from their homes.
