Indian challenge at Malaysia Masters ended as Saina and Sindhu lost their quaterfinal match today. All men’s single shuttler were out of tournament with their first round and second round loss. None of men’s single shuttler could make it to quarterfinal.
In today’s match P.V sindhu lost to no 1 seed Tai Tzu Ying in straight games by 21-16, 21-16. She was leading in first set at one point but made a few errors and lost the first set. In second set Taipai shuttler gave no chance to Sindhu and leading throughout the game. Sindhu did save five match points but eventually lost at the end.
In second match, Saina Nehwal was thrashed by Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marin in just 30 minutes. The Spanish dominated in both sets and gave Saina no chance what so ever. She also played many good deceptive shots which were impressive. Marine current form is ominous sign for all her opponents as Olympic in coming up.
Indian shuttler disappointed at the first event of this year as no one reached semis. They have to step up and raise their game before Tokyo Olympics.
