Nadal avenges 2019 Australian Open defeat

Rafael Nadal avenged his Australian Open 2019 defeat

Rafael Nadal avenged the drubbing he received at the Australian Open 2019 final by Novak Djokovic where the Serbian won in straight sets 6-3,6-2,6-3. The Spaniard produced a masterclass performance in Paris in the final as he dominated the match right from the word go. Nadal produced brilliant winners and put Djokovic’s serve under serious pressure, which was similar to what Djokovic did in the Australian Open final in 2019.

“In Australia two years ago everything was the opposite. It was Djokovic who played perfect. But that’s how sport is.In Melbourne he felt favourite because it is his tournament, here in Paris it is mine. He had that feeling of near perfection,” Rafael Nadal continued.

The Spaniard has decided to skip the Erste Bank Open in Vienna and will return to action at the Paris Bercy Masters which commences from 2nd November. The world number two is also expected to play at the Nitto ATP Finals later in November.
