The World No.1 was sharp from the ball go, showing no bruises from his loss against Daniel Evans last week. The home hero broke the South Korean’s serve five times in the first set.

During his pre-tournament press conference on Monday, Djokovic spoke about the importance of competing in his hometown. “It gives you an extra push, an extra motivation, energy to really give your best and leave it all out on the court,” he said.
