The World’s no. 1 Tennis athelete Novak Djokovic said that he don’t want to be get vaccinated before the competition , once the tennis season resumes.
In a live chat with fellow athletes, he said that I don’t like to be forced by someone to take this vaccine for traveling. It is my own thought may be it will change at a time. If the season resumes in August and September , it will be necessary for athletes to take that vaccine for their own good.
“Personally I am opposed to vaccination and I wouldn’t want to be forced by someone to take a vaccine in order to be able to travel,” Djokovic said in a live facebook chat with several fellow Serbian athletes.
“But if it becomes compulsory, what will happen? I will have to make a decision. I have my own thoughts about the matter and whether those thoughts will change at some point, I don’t know.
“Hypothetically, if the season was to resume in July, August or September, though unlikely, I understand that a vaccine will become a requirement straight after we are out of strict quarantine and there is no vaccine yet.”
Djokovic won Australian Open in January, which was his 17th grand slam title and stretched his winning run to 18 matches before coronavirus pandemic halted all the sports action. Due to Corona virus, this year’s Wimbledon championships have been cancelled since World war ll and French Open also rescheduled for 20 September to 4 October.
