Novak Djokovic’s Father Criticizes Roger Federer, says “Go do Something Else”

Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have intense rivalries on the tennis court as both players have their own set of fans for their unique styles. However, outside the court, it seems that more than Novak, it’s his father who has enmity with the Swiss master.

Novak’s father once again argued Roger Federer’s motivation to play tennis even at the age of 40.

Speaking to Sport Klub’s show Spo(r)tlight, Srdjan Djokovic said that it was fun to see Roger Federer playing tennis despite having crossed 40 years of age. Srdjan accused Roger Federer of playing tennis because he still wants to stop his son, Novak and Rafael Nadal from breaking his Grand Slam records. The Djokovic senior has advised Roger Federer that there are more important things in life than tennis.

Srdjan Djokovic advised Roger Federer that at his age one must sit at home and raise children or go skiing. According to him, for Novak tennis is just his ‘current hobby’. He said that Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer have developed a kind of respect for themselves, over the years.

However, the fact that Roger Federer is the most successful player in tennis, will not remain a reality for long.

This is not the first time Novak Djokovic’s father has spoken out against Federer. In the past he has claimed that Roger Federer is jealous of Novak Djokovic, even questioning his humanity.

Novak Djokovic himself has spoken of breaking Roger Federer’s record several times. Novak Djokovic has expressed his ambition to become the Grand Slam champion and to break the record for most weeks spent as world No.1.
