Here is how you can stream the Karate events at the Tokyo Olympics Games 2020 that begins on the 5th of August.

Karate Live Stream: The Tokyo Olympics 2020 enters its last week. Several combat sports events have already concluded. However, there are a few left as well. Karate at the 2020 Olympics begins on the 5th of August. And what’s more? This is the first time Karate will be held at the Summer Olympics.

There will be a total of two disciplines. The sparring discipline will be Kumite, and will take place for both men and women across three weight classes. The other discipline, Kata, which is the solo discipline, will feature just one event each for men and women. So, there will be a total of 8 events, with 10 participants across each event, meaning a total of 80 competitors.

The three weight categories for the Kumite events will be – 67kg, 75kg and +75kg for men, while for the women it will be 55kg, 61kg and +61kg.

There are several karatekas to watch out for at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. In the women’s kata, Kiyou Shimizu will be looking forward to carrying her 2x World Championship success into the Olympics Games 2020, as she will be gunning for glory in her own backyard.

37-year old Spaniard, Damian Quintero will be looking forward to signing off with a bang. The 10-time European champion does not have an Olympic medal to his name. However, the world no.1 will be looking to end his Olympics drought at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics Games.

Ryo Kiyuna of Japan will have the weight of the nation on his shoulders when he takes centre stage at the Nippon Budokan. The three-time world champion, is one of the favourites to win the Gold medal.

27-year old Wen Tzu-Yun of Chinese Taipei will be taking part in the women’s 55kg Kumite. She is a two-time Asian Games gold medalist, and might go on to strike Gold for her nation.

The Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 will be held at the Nippon Budokan. It is known as the Spiritual Home of Martial Arts. Located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, this venue has a capacity of almost 14500. It was opened in the year 1964 for the Tokyo Olympics 1964. It was renovated last year ahead of the Tokyo Olympics 2020.
