Olympic Preparation Committee will hold meeting with National Sports Federations on April 22

The Preparation Committee for Olympic has scheduled a video conference with the National Sports Federation on the 22nd of April, in order to discuss the upcoming actions to be taken during this coronavirus crisis.

Indian Olympic Association’s President Narinder Batra General Secretary of Indian Olympic Association Mr. Rajeev Mehta will also be a part of the meeting.

A source was qouted as saying to ANI, “We will have a video conference meeting of the Preparation Committee with the NSFs, who have qualified as of now. The chairman of the Preparation Committee, Lalit Bhanot, IOA president Narinder Batra, General Secretary Rajeev Mehta along with other officials will discuss the future course of action.”

However, The 2020 Tokyo Olympics has already been postponed due to coronavirus, and will now commence from 23rd July to 8th August next year, while the Paralympic leg will be held from 24th August to 5th September, 2021.

The source also mentioned that the office of the Olympic Organising Commitee and The International Olympic Council (IOC) might gets resumed on 7th of May.

The source said, “Apart from this, we have also proposed a video conference meeting on May 8. In case lockdown extends, we will see what to do but we are monitoring the situation very closely.”

“Hopefully, the office of the organising committee along with IOC will resume by May 7. So, we will get the guidelines and hopefully, we will have another meeting on May 8,” the source added.
