Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury – the fight, the entire combat sports community has been waiting for, has received a massive update. Matchroom Boxing CEO and Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that only minor details are to be resolved on ‘both ends’ and people can expect an announcement in a fortnight.

Speaking in an interview with SkySports, Hearn said that the paperwork was going on between himself and Bob Arum (Tyson Fury’s promoter) and reassured that they ‘are on the verge of getting the fight done’.

Eddie Hearn was quoted as saying, “Contracts have been backwards and forwards. Only minor details to be resolved on both ends. We’re in a good place. AJ was in the office yesterday with us. We had a good meeting to finalise our side of stuff.” (via SkySports)

“I hate saying two weeks, but two weeks (until an announcement). We’re on the verge now of getting this fight done. We want to make sure the ink is dry, and then we’ll go out and finalise the site details. I’m going to keep quiet for now, which probably won’t last for too long, but in the meantime working hard to finalise what is the absolute biggest fight in boxing.” (via SkySports)

Looks like we might see the fight happening somewhere around mid-2020. Anthony Joshua is coming off a knockout victory over Kubrat Pulev, as recently as, December 2020. Tyson Fury, on the other hand, hasn’t fought since his stunning victory over Deontay Wilder, last February.
