The main event saw a featherweight bout between Brian Ortega and “the Korean zombie”, Chang Sung Jung. Ortega came out victorious in a 5-round classic, winning via unanimous decision. The Korean zombie was outclassed in striking as Ortega displayed a completely new side to him, nearly two years away after coming up short in his last bid to become featherweight champion.
The final scorecards all read 50-45 .“It feels good,” Ortega said after having his hand raised. “We got to work. Like everyone thought that I took some time off. No, I had surgeries, I got right back to work.
The twitter community came unglued as they reacted to the dominating and almost one-sided victory by Ortega. From Johny Walker to Cub Swanson and Jon Anik, everyone had something to say about the fight.
Having put the instant classic of a fight in the rear-view, all that remains to ask is what’s next for Brian Ortega. In the post-fight interview, Ortega thanked all the UFC fans who stood by him after his loss to Max Holloway. Ortega is now the next in line to face Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC Featherweight Title.
Will he finally be able to win the title? Only time will tell.
