One will simply find it impossible to keep up with the magisterial Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros. Finding an answer against his impeccable topspin forehands and raw intensity is something that many have tried but utterly failed. Bringing some analysis to this, Nadal has a few interesting stats that shed light on how dominant he has been on the Paris clay courts.

13 titles and only 2 losses – shows no signs of stopping!

Nadal has undoubtedly been the single most dominant player on a particular court surface, with him rightly bagging the title of the King of Clay. Perhaps, He is also the King of the French Open, with his victory over Novak Djokovic getting him a 13th title! This win takes him to the top with Roger Federer on the most Grand Slams ever (men’s singles), with 20 titles.

Such is Nadal’s consistency at Roland Garros, that only two – yes, two – players have ever defeated him at the tournament. These two players are Robin Soderling and Novak Djokovic himself.

It propels him to 100 total wins in the French Open, making him the first player to reach this milestone. Nadal also remains the only player to bagel both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in a Grand Slam final.

An interesting statline has popped up after Nadal’s 13th French Open triumph that encompasses his utter dominance in Paris.

He has won more French Open titles since 2017 than the number of sets he has lost in the tournament at the same time!

His fourth consecutive title, he has defeated Stanislas Wawrinka, Dominic Thiem twice, and most recently Novak Djokovic in the finals.

During the same timespan, 2017-2020, he has only lost three sets in total, thus resulting in this very interesting statistic. If one hasn’t run out of words to describe Nadal’s Paris run, they certainly will after learning about this.
