Padma Vibhushan – India’s second highest civilian award

Indian’s boxing icon, six time world champion MC Mary Kom will be conferred Padma Vibhushan this year. She is first women athlete and fourth overall, who is awarded with India’s second highest civilian award.

Mary Kom has won 6 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze in world championship. She won gold at Asian games in 2014, while finished with bronze in 2010. She won Bronze at 2012 London Olympics. She will be eying gold at upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Padma Bhushan – India’s third highest civilian award

World Champion, Olympic silver medalist, PV Sindhu will be conferred India’s third highest civilian award. She made India proud by winning medal at Rio Olympics and she became world champion in 2019. She has won 2 silver and 2 bronze in World Championship. She will be leading India’s badminton challenge in upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games.

Padma Shri – India’s fourth highest civilian award

India’s queen of hockey, Rani Rampal will be conferred with Padma Shri this year. She will be receiving India’s fourth highest civilian award for making India proud in Hockey. Her two goals, which booked India’s ticket for Rio and Tokyo Olympics will be always remembered. She is also nominated for “World Games Athlete of The Year” for her excellence.

Former International hockey player, MP Ganesh will be conferred Padma Shri this year. He was the part of hockey team, who won bronze at Munich Olympic Games in 1972. He was also part of the team that had won Silver and Bronze at 1973 and 1971 World Cup respectively.

King of reverse swing, Former Indian cricketer, fast bowler Zaheer Khan will also receive Padma Shri. He was Part of Indian team who finished runner up in 2003 world cup

Former International football player, Oinam Bembem Devi will be conferred Padma Shri. She is known as “Durga of Indian Football’ and currently spreading awareness about women’s football in India.

Former world number 1, Armyman Jitu Rai, Who won multiple world cup medals for Indian in 10m and 50m air pistol shooting. will be conferred Padma Shri this year. He was part of Indian Olympic team in 2016. He has won silver medal in 2014 World Championship.

Renounced recurve archer from from Sikkim state, will be conferred Padma Shri. He was part of Silver medal wining team in 2005 an 2019 World Championship He will also participate in next year Tokyo Olympics. He also won Bronze in 2006 Asian games in team event and Silver in 2010 in individual event.
