Para Badminton: Indian shuttler wins 7 Gold 5 Silver and 3 Bronze

Indian Para Badminton player continue their good performance and finish with a rich medal haul at Peru Para-Badminton International. Pramod Bhagat won Gold in men’s singles and men’s doubles as in Brazil last week.

Pramaod Bhagat won the SL-3 men’s singles finals against compatriot Nitesh Kumar in three games 21-18, 15-21,21-14 in 48 minutes. He paired up with Manoj Sarkar to win the men’s doubles final. They thrashed the french pair of Mathieu Thomas/Gailly Guillaume by 21-19,21-9 in just 30 minutes.

In men’s singles SL-4 finals, it was again an all Indian affair. Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj defeated Sukant Kadam by 21-18, 21-16 in 39 minutes. In men’s singles SH-6 Nagar Krishna defeated Victor Tavares by 17-21,21-14,21-13 to secure India’s third Gold in men’s singles category.

In mixed doubles final Indo-Russian pair of Premkumar Ale/Tatiana Gureeva defeated Indo-Swiss pair of Abu Hubaida/Cynthia Mathez 21-9,21-12 in just 31 minutes.

Parul Parmar won two silver medal in women’s singles Sl-3 and women’s doubles along with Palak Kohli. She lost to Turkish Halime Yildiz by 21-9,10-21,21-15 in women’s singles and 21-15,21-13 in women’s doubles to top seed Thai pair of Chanida Srinavakul/Saensupan Nipada.

In SU-5 men’s doubles category Raj Kumar/Rakesh Pandey defeated french pair Lucas Mazur/Meril Loquette in three games by 21-18,18-21,21-16. In SH-6 mixed doubles final Nagar Krishna/Carmen Flores outplayed Hector Tonque/Rubi Vargas to clinch Gold.

It was again a superb performance by our Para Badminton stars after a good showing in Brazil. We hope they will continue this dominating performance and win medal at Paralympic games too,
