Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar is a well known name in para badminton world. Parul competes in Women’s singles SL-3 category and a 2 times world champion in world para badminton champions 2013 and 2017 edition. Parul Parmar conferred with prestigious Arjuna Award in 2009. She is affected by Poliomyelitis at young age. Now, she is 47 years old and still one of the active para badminton player.

Her records at international events are very impressive. She participated in 3 Asian para games, won GOLD medal in Women’s singles SL-3 category in 2014 & 2018 edition and bronze in 2010 Asian para games.

Even her campaign on 2019 World para badminton championship is memorable one. She won silver medal on womens singles SL-3 category after losing to Manasi Girishchandra Joshi ,who is another para badminton star of India. Besides this, along with her partner Akiko Sugino, she won GOLD medal in WD SL 3- SU 5 category at World para Badminton championship 2017 edition.

Even 2019 season is another memorable year of her career. She bagged triple crown in women’s singles, mixed doubles, women’s doubles at Uganda Para Badminton International 2019.

Parul Parmar ready for Tokyo Paralympics

In 2019, the Paralympic Committee of India announced that it has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cairn Foundation to support 10 para-athletes from the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat. Parul Parmar is one of the para athlete of these list. No doubt, it’s a major boost to her preparations for the postponed Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
