Pat Cummins recalls Cheteshwar Pujara’s exploits Down Under, picks him as toughest batsman to bowl

On Sunday, World no. 1 Australian test bowler Pat Cummins has revealed that India’s Cheteshwar Pujara is the toughest batsman to bowl in the longest format of the game.

Cheteshwar Pujara had helped India to win the test match series against Australia in Australia in 2018-19. He scored 521 runs with 3 century and an average of over 74 and also made a half century.

Australian cricket Association was arranged the live question and answer session. Cummins was asked which batsman he found as toughest to ball. Cummins replied during the live session that is Cheteshwar Pujara.

“There are a lot of them out there, unfortunately. But I am going to go with someone different, and he is (Cheteshwar) Pujara from India. He was a real pain in the back for us,” Pat Cummins said.

“He (Pujara) was an absolute rock for them in that series. (He was) really hard to get out. Just ultra concentration all day, day after day. He is the hardest one in Test cricket so far, I think,” Cummins added.

Cummins’ teammates Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood got frustrated when Pujara was in the middle. Cummins remembered how hard it was for Australian team to dismissed the Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara in the last series.

Cheteshwar Pujara was announced the man of the match and the player of the series as he had scored 521 runs in that series. India won the first ever test series in Australia.
