This is Patricio Freire sixth consecutive title defense since he won the championship against Daniel Straus at Bellator 178. With this win, he advances in the final of the Bellator Featherweight World Grand Prix and he is going to face A.J. Mckee in the final.

In the very first round of the fight, Pitbull caught Sanchez with a combination followed by a right hook that leads to advancing Sanchez off-balance. Sensing an opening he immediately jumped up for a guillotine and brought Sanchez down to the mat with him.

That led Sanchez to be unresponsive when referee Todd Anderson went to check on one of his arms and the bout was waved off. Now the winner of the Grand Prix finale between Patricio Freire and A.J. Mckee will fight for a $1,000,000 prize.

The number 1 ranked Bellator Featherweight fighter A.J. Mckee is still undefeated in his MMA career with a perfect record of 17-0 but Patricio Freire vows to end his perfect record in their faceoff at the final.

After his win at Bellator 255, Pitbull says, “It’s the perfect final for the movie, He’s undefeated, I am the champion. Let’s see what’s going to happen, and I know what’s going to happen. … I know he’s good. He’s young. But I told him, ‘To be a complete fighter is to be defeated.’ And he will be defeated by me.”

“It’s a fight of five rounds, He’s going to come to a place where it’s a competition fight for the belt. It’s different. The fight preparation – everything. Everything is going to happen. He knows my power. He knows I’m dangerous. I know he’s scared.”

“I know I am the No. 1 in the world, so it’s enough for me, I know my records, I know my numbers, I know my titles. I know the meaning of them. … He’s been built up by Bellator for his whole career here at Bellator. He’s undefeated. He’s in the finals against me, so it’s going to be one of the greatest fights of all time.”
