Juventus are currently sitting 4th in the Serie A table, 8 points off league leader Inter Milan while having a game in hand. They currently lost to Porto 2-1 in their first leg clash in the Round of 16 meeting between them. New manager and former player Andrea Pirlo hasn’t had life easy at Juventus with their form being inconsistent of late. They face an uphill task now in regards to winning either the Serie A or the Champions League.
Paulo Dybala contract negotiations up in the air as talks stall
Juventus offered him a contract worth €10 million a year but that was rejected by Dybala as he wanted a higher sum of money. The club upped their offer by another €2 million, which would see him earn €12 million and similar to young defender Matthijs de Ligt. As of yet there has been no breakthrough between the club and the Argentinean player’s representatives and therefore Juventus are looking to offload him if a new contract cannot be agreed to by the end of this season.
Dybala’s contract ends in the summer of next year and Juventus will be looking for potential suitors for him to sell him off. Manchester United was once linked to Dybala and could very well be looking at this situation. Juventus will not want to lose a prized asset like Paulo Dybala on a free as they could recoup major money on an established player like him. They are also trying to tie down Alvaro Morata to the club, who is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid.
It remains to be seen how and what will happen in the summer of 2021 to both Juventus and Paulo Dybala.
