Manchester City win their 15th consecutive game in all competitions
Pep Guardiola arrived at Manchester having had successful spells at both Bayern Munich and Barcelona in his previous stints. The Spanish manager won 14 trophies, including two Champions League triumphs during his time at the Camp Nou. His 3 seasons in Germany with Bayern Munich yielded 7 trophies and his impeccable record made Manchester City hire him in 2016.
Guardiola hasn’t let his record drop in the Premier league and has already won the league twice in his 4 years at the club. A total of 8 trophies for Manchester City has further boosted his reputation as an esteemed manager.
Pep Guardiola was very happy after the game with his team’s performance not only in this game but over the last 15 matches, where they have won.
Speaking at his post-match conference he said, “It is a message for ourselves. We came to win, that was the most important thing.
“We cannot deny how pleased and how proud we are to break this record from a long time ago. Records are there to be broken.
“It is not easy in the modern era to do 15 games in a row. We are happy for our club.”
Manchester City are on their way to win a third Premier League title under Guardiola. They are currently leading second placed Manchester United by 5 points and have a game in hand.
