Philippe Coutinho Undergoes Ankle Surgery, Sidelined For Two Weeks

On Friday, Bayern Munich’s midfielder Philippe Coutinho underwent a successful operation on his right ankle. The 27 year talented footballer who has contributed 9 goals for the Bayern Munich club will begin his rehabilitation programme in 2 weeks.

“On Friday, Philippe Coutinho underwent an operation on his right ankle, during which loose joint fragments were removed. The operation was a success. The Brazilian will begin his recovery programme in around 14 days,” the Bundesliga club said in an official statement.

However, it is unclear that when the tournament will continue in Germany as the following COVID-19 pandemic has stopped the most football across Europe.

Currently, all the sporting events had been Postponed due to Coronavirus pandemic in which top tournaments like La Liga, Premier League and EURO Championship have been halted and there is no certainty when all these competitions will resume untill normalcy is return.
