The former Bantamweight champion who relinquished his belt following UFC 249 had a few words for the new division king Petr Yan. The Russian “no mercy” man did not keep quiet but was wrong to assume that the “Triple C” would keep quiet. Henry Cejudo lashed out and said the “no mercy” was an easy opponent.
Cejudo might have directed to the Russian fighter but his tweets speak otherwise. He tweeted, “How cute the “rent a champ” is calling me out! Why don’t you take out that dirt Q-tip (Sean O’Malley) that’s easy money? But please (Dana White) give me that overgrown midget (Alexander Volkanovski) I’ll make him bend the knee!” This definitely looks like it’s a heading in the direction of the Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski. This follows up his tweet where he claimed that ‘The Great’ stole the win against Max Holloway.
The two had an altercation over Twitter where Cejudo had claimed that the ‘The Great’ would not last 2 rounds with him. The comment came in response to the Australian claiming that he viewed the former Olympian as a Featherweight contender. The tweet indicates that ‘Triple C’ is done at 135lbs and shows that he is serious about potentially going for a “quadruple C”, which could mean that he was looking for a third title if he decided to return to the Octagon.
Henry is the former UFC flyweight and Bantamweight champion. He is the fourth UFC fighter to hold titles in two different weight classes simultaneously, and the second to defend titles in two different weight divisions. He holds a record of 16 wins from 18 fights with 8 knockouts and 8 decisions. He is also a free style Olympic wrestler having won gold at Beijing games 2008.
