PM praises Indian chess players for their innovative way of raising funds

On Wednesday Prime Minister praises the lavish chess players, including world champion Vishwanathan Anand and Koneru Humpy. They collected funds by an innovative way to fight against corona virus.

Modi tweeted “Innovative effort and kind gesture by our chess players including @vishy64theking, @viditchess, pentala Harikrishna, B.Adhiban and @HarikaDronavali.”

Five leading players Vidit Gujrathi, P Harikrishna and B Adhiban, Koneru Humpy and Dharika, alongside Anand participated in online exhibition and helped raise Rs 4.5 lakh for the PM-CARES fund.

Modi also said that he is sure that participants would have very different experience. They have done something for the country without going outside they have contributed such a large amount. This shows that not only in the field but sportsperson will always be there for country.

In India corona virus have infected more than 12,000 people and had taken lives of 350 people. As the condition was not improving, PM has decided to extend the lockdown till 3rd may.
