Police arrests ex Delhi United coach for theft

Players of Delhi United Football Club were shocked after seeing that their belongings were missing from the dressing room after a victory. The incident took place on March 13, 2020 at the renowned Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
As per reports, the police reportedly started investigating immediately after a complaint was lodged art the Lodhi Colony Police Station
Delhi Police arrests accused & recovers belongings
Football Delhi chief Shaji Prabhakaran said on Wednesday in a tweet that the Delhi Police has arrested the accused and have recovered all the items.
The police has arrested the unidentified football coach who stole allegedly the entire Delhi United team’s mobile phones. The accused did this during their match against City FC. The police said the accused allegedly committed the theft after being removed as the coach.
According to DCP Atul Thakur of south Delhi, on March 13, they receive a call at Lodhi Colony Police Station that 12 mobiles and purses of the entire team of Delhi United went missing.
Further investigation led to arrest of co-accused Sekhar Pathak, who was allegedly in possession of the phone. When the police again raided Shekhar’s home, they recovered a total of nine phones.
Police’s interrogation further revealed that the coach allegedly committed the theft out of revenge.
