Premier League: Arsenal vs Tottenham player ratings as Gunners punish lackluster Spurs really bad

Arsenal got a comprehensive 3-1 victory against a tough Spurs side which, in the day, looked very poor. Arsenal were better in every aspect in the first half as Tottenham ran around like headless chicken. Goals from Smith-Rowe, Aubameyang and Saka won the game in the first 45 only, as Spurs got a consolation late for their 2nd half effort.

Arsenal absolutely blew Tottenham away from the initial stage as Tottenham ran around without any clue the entire first half. Emile Smith-Rowe gave scored the first from close range, and Aubameyang followed by a similar finish from the left flank. Saka put the dagger and gave Arsenal a very comfortable cushion by scoring the third.

The second half started with Spurs trying to break the Arsenal backline down and enjoyed a lot more of the possession on the ball. Kane got a good chance near the hour mark, but failed to convert. Son scored one in the end, but it was too late to comeback.

Aaron Ramsdale: 8/10 A stunning save in the dying minutes of the game and one off Son early in the first 45 minutes highlight his pretty decent outing.

Takehiro Tomiyasu: 7/10 Tomiyasu looked good attacking and supported Saka well with the overlapping runs, but left the gap open in the defense few times.

Ben White: 9/10 White had a very solid game at the back as he pocketed the Spurs attack pretty well. His ball playing ability throughout the game was good, as he provided few good lob balls.

Gabriel: 8/10 A rock-solid show from Gabriel as he held the defensive line really well and denied any extra touches in the box from Spurs’ side

Kieran Tierney: 7/10 Tierney played a leading role in a very impressive show from the Arsenal team. Not only defensively but Tierney was a constant threat to the Spurs defense too.

Thomas Partey: 7/10 Partey won a lot of duels in the game resulting in a perfect game playing as the single sitter in the 3-man midfield, and also had a good shot saved.

Emile Smith-Rowe: 9/10 Definitely a Man of the Match contender as ESR played like a real no. 10, assisting, scoring and also tracking back well when the team needed.

Martin Odegaard: 7/10 Odegaard played his role of a floating no. 8 really well as his passed flawlessly and broke the line really well throughout the game.

Granit Xhaka: 7/10 Xhaka had a quite game but was pivotal in supporting Partey in few instances. He did not let the Spurs midfield have space which was important.

Bukayo Saka: 9/10 One of the best in this game, if not the best, as Saka had a splendid afternoon. He assisted one to ESR and then scored one too.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang: 8/10 Aubameyang looked like a false 9 at times, allowing Saka and ESR spaces between the Spurs defense, and his goal was a typical finisher’s goal.

Hugo Lloris: 6/10 Lloris made few good diving saves and could not have done better with the goals, as it was his defense that let him down.

Japhet Tanganga: 6/10 Tanganga had a difficult game as he failed to contain the pressure put by the left side of the Arsenal attack after taking a hit early in the game

Davinson Sanchez: 5/10 Looked really rusty coming in for Romero and definitely could have done better in the first goal. Sanchez lacked in all the aspects.

Eric Dier: 5/10 Could not command the back line well, and lazy reaction towards the attackers summed his game up as Dier was poor throughout.

Sergio Reguilon: 7/10 Worked really hard throughout the game although he would be gutted to allow two goals from his wing. Got an assist which was somewhat deserving.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg: 6/10 Hojbjerg had a very mixed game as he was passing well to beat the Arsenal press but few individual mistakes dragged his game down.

Tanguy Ndombele: 5/10 Ndombele, like many Spurs players, could not do anything in the first half. But stepped his game up a bit in the second half.

Dele Alli: 4/10 Dele Alli dropped an absolute disaster-class as was not seen anywhere in the game. He was deservingly subbed off at half time.

Lucas Moura: 6/10 Looked decent in the second half but his lack of passing accuracy and poor link up put a bad impact on the game overall.

Hueng-Min Son: 7/10 The liveliest of all the attackers and individually did his work and accordingly got his reward late in the game.

Harry Kane: 4/10 Tottenham’s star man Kane was not seen at all in the game and had a very terrible game overall, misplacing passes and missing a great chance in the second half.

Substitutes

Emerson Royal: 7/10 Came on at the start of the second half and did considerably well to stabilize the defensive line and contained the Arsenal attack.

Oliver Skipp: 6/10 Skipp came in to put some pressure on Arsenal, and had some good moments too helping Tottenham save their noses in the second half.

Bryan Gil: 6/10 Bryan Gil came on for Tanguy Ndombele to outnumber the Arsenal midfield three, and the 20-year-old looked decent.
