Aston Villa vs Manchester City: It was a tough game for the home side as Manchester City went on to get a 1-2 victory away from home and get them to the second place on the Premier League points table, below Chelsea.
Manchester City started off the proceedings in the 27th minute, courtesy of a brilliant goal by Ruben Dias. It was shortly doubled by Bernardo Silva as City went 2-0 up into halftime. Minutes into second half, Ollie Watkins produced a beauty off a corner to pull one back for Villa.
As the final whistle blew, Manchester City walked away with a 1-2 win and three points. With that, let’s have a look at how the players performed.

Emiliano Martínez (GK) (7.2/10) : Martínez did a brilliant job with keeping and made quite a few brilliant saves, regardless of the two goals he conceded.
Matty Cash (6.5/10) : Cash did really well with tackling successfully, however, he failed to keep the control of the ball as he lost possession on multiple occasions.
Ezri Konsa (6.8/10) : Konsa had to do really well as he had too many balls coming around him, hence he made quite a few clearences. He earned a shy at goal but was denied the opportunity by Ederson.
Tyrone Mings (7.1/10) : The captain did really well apart from the others. He made five really good clearences followed by couple of blocked shots and fantastic aerial duel wins.
Matt Targett (6.7/10) : Targett played a good game for the home time. He made a couple of good clearences and Interceptions as well before being substituted in the 67th minute.
John McGinn (7.5/10) : McGinn was quick and sly as a fox as he went on to win almost each and every ground duel he initiated. He did a fine job at claiming several successful tackles.
Marvelous Nakamba (6.7/10) : Despite not being able to impact the match in the best way possible, Marvelous did a fantastic job by winning a fair few ground duels and doing brilliantly by making successful tackles.
Douglas Luiz (7.4/10) : Douglas swing in a pretty good corner which was neatly dealt by Ollie Watkins which earned Aston Villa a goal. A pretty good game for Luiz compared to his performance.
Leon Bailey (6.6/10) : Bailey was doing a fine job by making good runs in the goal to make chances but before he could make an impact, he walked off in the 31st minute with an injury concern.
Ollie Watkins (7.5/10) : Douglas Luiz’s corner was well handled by Ollie Watkins as he steered his shot into the bottom corner past Ederson and pulled a goal back for the home team. What a conversion to keep his team’s hopes alive.
Emi Buendía (6.9/10) : Buendia had two of his shots blocked in the defence while he made a really good run. He also created a big goal scoring opportunity which wasn’t dealt well.

Ederson (GK) (6.6/10) : Ederson barely had any attempts come at him but the ones that did, he made sure to keep them away with his excellent skill work.
João Cancelo (6.3/10) : Cancelo didn’t contribute much in the defence but sure did a decent job over-all. He himself had a shy at goal and despite being on target, couldn’t convert for Manchester City.
Ruben Dias (7.7/10) : Not always does Dias get to score and that too the opening goal. Dias celebrated his shot to all ends as he converted a brilliant left-footed shot into the bottom right corner off a brilliant Sterling assist to get Manchester City 1-0.
Nathan Aké (6.8/10) : Nathan did a decent job at defending the ball. However, the highlight of the match for him was his 100% accuracy at passing.
Oleksandr Zinchenko (7.4/10) : Zinchenko was one of the quickest with the feet for Manchester City. He won quite a few tackles followed by numerous ground duel wins. He had a couple of attempts at goal as well.
Rodri (7.5/10) : Rodri had an off target attempt at goal while also having one on target but denied by Martínez. He did a fairly decent job at ground and aerial duels but lost possession quite a few times.
Fernandinho (6.6/10) : The Manchester City skipper wasn’t that impressive when it came to impacting the game. He barely won any ground or aerial duels and also failed to keep the ball to himself and it’s possession.
Bernardo Silva (7/10) : After winning the counter attack and headed on the right wing, Gabriel Jesus’ floating pass picked out Bernardo on the run. He did the needful by smashing his volley past Martinez to double the lead.
Riyad Mahrez (7.5/10) : Mahrez has never failed to impress with his skill work. He was always up and running in search of that goal. He made a strong run towards goal and had an attempt as well but couldn’t convert.
Raheem Sterling (6.9/10) : Sterling made a brilliant floating assist to Bernardo Silva after City won the ball in their box and went for the counter attack. That assist certainly earned City their second goal.
Gabriel Jesus (7.8/10) : Jesus had a mind-blowing game. He was all around the pitch throughout the game. He had as many as two off target attempts while the on target one wasn’t converted. He also ensured to make quite a few runs but had three of his shots blocked in the defence. He also made a brilliant assist to Ruben Dias who scored the opening goal of the game for Manchester City.
