Premier League: Brentford vs Everton player ratings as Brentford earned a hard fought victory with the help of Ivan Toney goal

In an entertaining match which took place at the Brentford Community Stadium, Brentford earned victory by defeating Everton 1-0 with a goal from Ivan Toney.Everton were in control of the possession at the start with Allan and Doucoure dictating the play.

The first half was evenly distributed and both Brentford and Everton had their chances but Brentord were making better chances. Everton started the second half brightly with Rondon and Iwobi asking questions from the Brentford defence. Brentford defended with numbers and were able to see through a win which takes them 12th.

Alvaro Fernandez (GK) (7/10)Fernandez didn’t have much to do and was sturdy and made an excellent save in the first half. Was reliable when called upon.

Charlie Goode(7.5/10)Goode looked solid from the start. His presence gave confidence to Brentford who bossed the defence today alongside Pinnock.

Ethan Pinnock(8/10)Pinnock was solid and ever lively. Passed well and dictated the play from the centre brilliantly. His positioning was perfect and bossed the defence.

Pontus Jansson(7.5/10)Jansson made some positive passes into the midfield and played sleekly with holding the ball well and intercepting Everton passes.He was able to control Townsend.

Rico Henry(8/10)Henry was solid in the midfield and was very creative going forward today. His attacking runs, clever in-balls were a constant threat.His form has been excellent and would be beneficial for Brentford in the coming games.

Christian Norgaard(7.5/10)Norgaard was brilliant today. His sleek and accurate passes helped maintain possession and was lively on the wings . Both the wing backs were brilliant today.

Sergi Canos(7/10)Canos was playing the number 10 role brilliantly in the first half but dipped in the second half with losing possession and making lazy passes. Looked bright in the first half but was substituted later.

Frank Onyeka(8/10)Onyeka was the one of the best players for Brentford today with some impressive switch balls and through balls. His passing was intricate and he was the controlling force in the Villa midfield.

Vitaly Janelt(7/10)Janelt had an average game with some bright chances in between the game which he squandered . He was a bit off today but was crucial in linking the Villa play.

Ivan Toney(9/10)Toney was the best player on the pitch. After a shaky start, Tony was creating multiple problems with his skills,pace and runs. He grabbed a penalty goal to give Brentford the lead.

Bryan Mbeumo(8/10)Mbeumo was decent today with his link up playf. His clever runs were making spaces for his teammates which they took brilliantly.

Yoane WissaNAMads Roerslev(7/10)Replaced Henry in the 77th minute and did a decent job by performing his duty with rotating the ball well. Got some minutes under his belt.

Shandon Bapiste (7.5/10)He gave a new life to Brentford with his fresh legs and looked dangerous. Should have started the game with that type of performance.

Everton

Jordan Pickford (GK) (7.5/10)Pickford made some fine stops especially near the post against Toney and Mbuemo and was sturdy throughout the game. Couldn’t do anything with the penalty.

Micheal Keane(8/10)Keane was decent with the passing and made promising runs in behind which were a constant threat to Villa.Keane’s passing was looking dangerous for Brentford.

Lucas Digne(7/10)Digne was solid and made important blocks and passed well. He was involved in the attacking play too , was injured during the game.

Ben Godfrey(7.5/10)Godfrey was ever solid at the back and neutralised the Brentford attack with elegance. He looked shaky sometimes but dealt with the pressure brilliantly.

Seamus Coleman(7.5/10)Coleman looked sharp from the start and remained calm and composed and made attacking chances which troubled Brentford. His presence helped Everton remain undeterred.

Allan(7.5/10)Allan was solid in defending as well as in attacking. Made a few important interceptions which helped retrieve possession and was tidy in passing.

Andros Townsend(7.5/10)Townsend was playing well and was rotating possession really well. Tackled cleanly and made a few important interventions and his over-the-top balls were a constant menace to the Everton defence.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (7/10)Doucoure was quiet and made little effort in the press. His touches were poor and could have been better. His shots were also off target.

Anthony Gordon(75/10)Gordon was tidy in possession and made important blocks which were important and tidy. Though he made some silly fouls. His positioning was immaculate.

Alex Iwobi(7/10)Iwobi had a rather poor game today with this sloppy passing. Looked bright in some moments but was poor to his standards.

Salomon Rondon(7/10)Rondon was making runs in behind the defenders but could not contribute significantly to the game. He would not be pleased with the result and would hope to find his form.

Demari Gray(7.5/10)Gray was impactful today with his smart positioning and clever passes which troubled the slow legs of the Brentford defence.
