In an entertaining match which took place at the Selhurst Park ,Palace held Newcastle United for an 1-1 draw.Palace were in control of the possession at the start with Olise and McArthur dictating the play. The first half was heavily inclined to Palace. Palace started the second half rather spectacularly with Benteke scoring from a Olise cross.
After soaking the pressure, Newcastle stepped up and scored from nowhere through Callum Wilson. Both tried hard but couldn’t find the goal and saw the points being shared. This was a bright start for Newcastle United in the post Steve Bruce era.

Vicente Guaita (GK) (7/10)Guaita didn’t have much to do and was sturdy and made an excellent save in the first half. He couldn’t do anything for the Newcastle goal.
Joel Ward (6.5/10)Ward looked shaky from the start. His presence was not giving any confidence to Palace who struggled with him.
Tyrick Mitchell(7.5/10)Mitchell was solid and ever lively. Passed well and dictated the play from the centre brilliantly. His positioning was impeccable and helped Palace remain solid.
Marc Guehi(7.5/10)Guehi made some positive passes into the midfield and played sleekly with holding the ball well and intercepting Newcastle passes.He was able to control Saint Maximin.
Joachim Anderson(7.5/10)Anderson was solid at the back but unfortunately conceded the goal which he couldn’t stop. His form has been excellent and would be beneficial for Palace in the coming games.
Luka Mikivojevic(7.5/10)Mikivojevic was good today. His accurate passes controlled the possession and he was the player pulling strings for Palace today. His long switch passes were dangerous.
Michael Olise(8.5/10)Olise was playing brilliantly in the first half with taking on Ritchie and putting in dangerous crosses from the right to Benteke. His silky skills were a treat to watch.
James McArthur(7.5/10)McArthurl looked sharp from the start and remained calm and composed and made attacking chances which troubled Newcastle. His presence helped Palace remain undeterred.
Odsonne Edouard(7.5/10)Edouard had an average game with some bright chances in between the game which he squandered . He was a bit off today but was crucial in linking the Palace play.
Conor Gallagher(7/10)Gallagher seemed lively today and did create many chances including bright moments when he made exciting runs and attempted line breaking passes.
Christian Benteke(9/10)Benteke was the best player on the pitch. He opened the scoring with a wonderful header in the second half. His clever runs were making spaces for his teammates and was troublesome for Newcastle. He had one goal cancelled out.

Jeffrey Schlupp(7/10)Replaced Luka iin the 74th minute and did a decent job by performing his duty with rotating the ball well. Got some minutes under his belt.
Wilfried Zaha(8/10)Replaced Luiz and gave a new life to Bayern with his fresh legs and looked dangerous. Should have started the game with that type of performance
Karl Darlow(GK) (7.5/10)Sa made some fine stops for Newcastle United, especially near the post against Benteke and was sturdy throughout the game.
Ciaran Clark(7.5/10)Clark was decent with the passing and made promising runs in behind which were a constant threat to Palace.
Jamaal Lascelles(7/10)Lascelles was solid and made important blocks and passed well. He was involved in the attacking play too.
Emil Krafth(7/10)Krafth was ever solid at the back and neutralised the Palace attack with elegance. He looked shaky sometimes but dealt with the pressure brilliantly.
Matt Ritchie(6.5/10)Ritchie was battered by Olise during the game. His positioning was questionable and was easily hoodwinked by Palace attack. His position was the weak link.
Isaac Hayden(7.5/10)Hayden was solid in defending as well as in attacking. Made a few important interceptions which helped retrieve possession.
Javier Manquillo(7/10)Manquillo was playing well and was rotating possession really well. Tackled cleanly and made a few important interventions and his over-the-top balls were a constant menace to the Palace defence.
Sean Longstaff (7/10)Longstaff was quiet and made little effort in the press. His touches were poor and could have been better. His passes too were not upto the mark.
Callum Wilson (8/10)Wilson was tidy in possession and made important blocks for Newcastle United which were important and tidy. Though he made some silly fouls. His positioning was immaculate. He scored an acrobatic goal to equalise.
Allan Saint Maximin(6.5/10)Maximin had a rather poor game today for Newcastle United with this sloppy passing. Owing to his high standards he had a poor outing today and was rightly subbed off.
Ryan Fraser(7/10)Fraser was making runs in behind the defenders but could not contribute significantly to the game. He would be pleased with the result.
Joe Willock(8/10)Willock replaced Longstaff in the 74 thminute and immediately. Newcastle United became a force to reckon with. He was impactful and gave his best.
Almiron(8/10)Almiron was impactful today with his smart positioning and clever passes which troubled the slow legs of the Villa defence. His silky skills were fun to watch.
