This season’s Premier League was like never before. The world had not seen a football halt like this since the 2nd world war. The English Premier League had to be put on hold due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. Despite such a set back the competition and the teams didn’t fail to surprise as well as entertain all of us. Liverpool’s 30 year’s wait for a Premier league trophy is finally over as the Reds were crowned champions for the season.

The English competition also saw some of the greatest individual performances throughout the season. Despite the ever increasing Premier League stands these players were able to clinch Premiere league’s’ best individual accolades.

Golden Boot

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy bagged himself Golden Boot Award for 2019-2020 campaign. The English striker scored 23 goals helping Leicester qualify for next year’s Europa League competition. Despite a dip in form Vardy scored 4 goals after the Covid break. Leicester City missed out the Champion’s League qualification just by whiskers. The 33 year old is the oldest player to win the golden boot award.

In an Interview Leicester City’s manger Brendan Rogers said, “Jamie’s been outstanding for us – our Player of the Season. He knows he can’t do it without his team-mates, but he also knows, and the team know, that they couldn’t have done it without him and challenge”.

Golden Glove

Manchester City’s Ederson won the Premiere league golden glove award .Ederson beat his Brazillian compatriot Alisson Becker to lift the award this season. The Highly Underrated Manchester City Keeper kept 16 clean sheets in the 2019-2020 campaign. Nick pope was the closest competition to Ederson this season. Ederson has been a runner-up in his previous two campaigns with Manchester City.

Best Play-maker Award

Meanwhile Kevin De Bruyne was in the form of his life in the Premiere League’s 2019-2020 campaign. The Belgian Midfielder scored 13 goals and gave 20 assist in the 2019-2020 season. Kevin De Bruyne won the Playmaker award after equaling Thierry Henry’s record of 20 assists in a single Premier League season

The individual awards are indicators of player’s brilliance among the rest of the player in the competition. The levels of fitness , technique and confidence required to achieve this feat is very high. These awards are an example of player’s sheer brilliance in football.
