Premier League: Leicester City vs Burnley player ratings as Vardy’s late goal secures Leicester a point

Leicester City drew with Burnley 2-2 as Vardy scores brace for Leicester.

Leicester City held Burnely to a 2-2 draw in their own backyard as Jamie Vardy scored the late equalizer. The King Power stadium witnesses an action-packed footballing encounter where both, Leicester City and Burnley went tow to tow with each other.

Jamie Vardy’s own goal gave the away side the lead s Leicester City triled. However, the parity was restored after twenty-five minutes as Vardy revived himself after scoring on the 38th-minute mark after a magnificent pass from Tielemans. Cornet regained the Burnely lead as he scored a wonderful volley but Vardy scored again at the 86th-minute mark to earn a crucial point for Leicester City.

The 2-2 draw with Leicester means Burnely is still winless in the campaign while for Leicester Cit too the things aren’t working in the perfect way as they found themselves 12th in the rankings.

Kasper Schmeichel 6/10

The Danish keeper wasn’t at fault for both Hornets’ goals but had some shaky moments while dealing with the constant long balls and set-piece deliveries. However, he distributed the ball well and also pulled out an important save from Vydra’s Quickfire shot. The home side opted to bring the ball backward many times in the first half and therefore evidently he had 22 touches in the first half.

Ricardo Pereira 6.5/10

Defensively stood strong as he won his ground duels and made key interceptions. The right-back combined well with Looman to create a chance in the first half on the right flank. However, he lost the possession at times which aided the away side in their build-up.

Caglar Soyuncu 6/10

The Turkish center half made few good clearances while dealing with Burnley’s attacking and aerial threat. However, Cornet and co pressed very highly, and consistently in this game which resulted in the center halves losing the ball possession including Soyuncu.

Jannik Vestergaard 5/10

Vydra causes all sorts of problems to Vestergaard as he turned away from him on the right-hand side and sent a sumptuous delivery to Cornet who eventually scored a stunning goal.

Ryan Bertrand 5/10

Former Southampton player lost the ball quite a lot in the left flank and hence, Burnely was constantly hitting forward from that side. Due to high press, he could not surge forward much and thus did not contribute to attack much.

Wilfred Ndidi 7/10

Ndidi shielded the backline well at times and made some key interceptions to break the attacks of Burnley. His presence was crucial in the middle of the park which allowed Tielemans and co to move forward.

Youri Tielemans 7.5/10

The Belgian midfielder had around 94% of pass accuracy and was very lively in the middle of the park. He sent plenty of long balls which sparked Leicester’s attack. Further, he also won a good amount of his ground duels.

Boubakary Soumare 7/10

Soumare was both defensively and offensively sound in the center of the park. He tried to make the things tick as he provided a number of crosses for Vardy to score. Further, he had an impressive passing accuracy throughout the game.

Ademola Lookman 6.5/10

Lookman was causing some problems to the rearguard from the right flank. He combined well with the midfield to create the opportunities and some great key passes in the box. However, he lost the ball in some crucial moments.

Jamie Vardy 7.5/10

Vardy scored an own goal from Westwood’s corner kick. However, he levelled the score after 25 minutes as he found the left bottom corner after a great incisive pass by Tielemans. Scored the winner as he rounded past Pope on 86th-minute mark

Harvey Barnes 7/10

Had his battles with Lowton in the flank but he tried to offer some deliveries and passes from his side. Had to track to back to defend at times.

Very lively figure in the game after coming on from the bench. He sent a key pass to Vardy which resulted into the late equalizer.

Provided the pace on the flanks but had very little time to make the things happen.

Nick Pope 5/10

The British keeper was beaten by Vardy in the box in the first half. However, he did pull out some key saves and clearances to keep them in the game. He also won a key aerial duel. However, he made a mistake in rushing early to grab the ball and Vardy rounds him to score a goal.

Matthew Lowton 7.5/0

Lowton was rock-solid as a right-back who surged forward with authority. He provided upwards of 10 long balls which contributed to the attack.

James Tarkowski 7.5/10

He was at the heart of Clarets’ defense and he was immense at times. Won all of his aerial duels and ground duels.

Ben Mee 6.5

Partnered Tarkowski well in the heart of the rearguard. He also sent quite a few long balls to build the things up.

Taylor struggled to deal with Lookman and co but as the game progresses he earned some stability and reacted well. Also, later he made some clearances and key blocks.

Maxwell Cornet 7.5/10

He was constantly posing a plethora of threats to the Leicester side. He hit a very good volley from Vydra’s delivery to give Burnley the lead.

He could not offer much in the attacking sense. However, he did trackback at times to provide a shield for defense and made some blocks.

His corner delivery resulted in Vardy’s own goal. He was a great physical presence in the midfield who won a majority of his ground duels.
