Premier League: Liverpool vs Arsenal player ratings as Liverpool thrash four goals at Anfield

One of Arsenal’s biggest nightmares came through in their exhilarating contest of football against Liverpool at Anfield. What was expected to be an equally dominated encounter was single handedly controlled by Liverpool.

As the match kicked off, both the teams went hunting for the ball but the possession was equally shared for most part of the first half. However, Sadio Mané took advantage of the bent out of shape Arsenal side and gave a 1-0 lead to Liverpool in the 39th minute.

Diogo Jota doubled the lead minutes into the second half while Liverpool’s star striker, Mohmmed Salah scored a goal in the 73rd minute to triple the lead.

Alisson Becker (GK) (7.6/10) : Alisson had a wonderful time with the gloves defending the goal. He made some really good saves and helped earn the cleansheet as well as bag a magnificent 4-0 win.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (8.4/10) : A staggering performance by the defender. He made some good dribbles as well as he made two assists out of the four goals that were scored. One remarkable highlight of his was the effortless free-kick converted into a goal.

Joël Matip (7.1/10) : Joël made some valuable clearences for Liverpool while also did a fine job at winning ground duels. He also was brilliant with his passing with an accuracy of 91%.

Virgil van Dijk (7.2/10) : Virgil van Dijk was brilliant as the Liverpool captain led from the front. He made as many as four good clearences while being great at winning aerial duels. He also had brilliant passing accuracy and had a shy at goal. However, on attempt he was way off target.

Konstantinos Tsimikas (7.4/10) : Tsimikas was really quick with his feet. He won as many as four good tackle battles while also he wasn’t hesitant to take on ground duels and won plenty of them.

Thiago Alcântara (7.3/10) : His 95% passing accuracy served him right as he made some really clean and neat passes to keep the ball moving. He had a couple of attempts at goal but was denied by Ramsdale.

Fabinho (7/10) : Fabinho was excellent with the long balls and he did a fine job at winning the ground duels. A good game over-all for him.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (7.2/10) : One of the most proactive players for Liverpool. He made some really good runs in the defense but had his shots blocked a couple of times. He had an attempt at goal but was off target.

Mohamed Salah (7/10) : A direct ball from Alisson was neatly dealt with the midfield and Sadio Mané neatly passed it to Salah who gently made a tap in to triple the lead for Liverpool.

Diogo Jota (6.9/10) : Jota took control of the lose ball in the box by pouncing on it at the right moment. He took it around the goalkeeper before firing his shot into the back of the empty net to double the lead.

Sadio Mané (8.5/10) : Mané took control of the incoming delivery by Alexander-Arnold and peeled it off the back of Gabriel to get his head on it and thumped it past an outstretched Ramsdale to get the lead to Liverpool. He also had an assist to his name.

Minamino Takumi (/10) : Takumi barely joined the pitch for seconds and made the lead to 4-0 for Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold made a beautiful cross to Takumi in the six-yard box and Minamino waited to tap in at the far post. He did it effectively and made it 4-0.

Aaron Ramsdale (GK) (6.7/10) : It was a busy time indeed for Ramsdale with the gloves on as he had plenty of attempts to save. He did let past four goals which clearly would dent his confidence in his upcoming matches.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (5.5/10) : He had a rough time on the pitch. He had barely made progress in the defence and one of his errors lead to a shot which was converted into a goal.

Ben White (6.2/10) : White made some fantastic clearences and also did a commendable job at winning couple of interceptions and tackles but his performance wasn’t impactful at the end of the game.

Gabriel (6.8/10) : Gabriel was one of the quickest on field as he managed to to win as many as five tackle battles followed by winning all his ground duels.

Nuno Tavares (6.2/10) : Had a decent run in defending but he failed to stay alert as one of his errors led to conceding a goal.

Bukayo Saka (6/10) : Bukayo Saka failed successively at making goal scoring attempts. He had several attempts at ground duels and didn’t win even 50% of those and looked out of shape.

Thomas Partey (6.7/10) : A pretty average performance by Partey. He barely created any opportunities. He had one chance at goal but was denied the opportunity by Alisson.

Albert Sambi Lokonga (6.6/10) : Just the 53 minutes for Albert as he barely made an impactful performance throughout the match. He hardly had attempts and the one he did, was denied by the keeper.

Emile Smith Rowe (6/10) : Emile Smith Rowe was nowhere to be witnessed. He couldn’t help pull out his team from the jaws of Liverpool as they kept drilling goals in. He had a decent game but couldn’t impact positively with his skills.

Alexandre Lacazette (7.2/10) : Lacazette walked back in the 67th minute of the match. He did win some ground duels and tackles but that was about it.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (6.6/10) : Just the one on target attempt at goal by Aubameyang. Apart from that he had a pretty average game and couldn’t help his side.
