Premier League: Manchester United v Arsenal preview and predictions
Scott McTominay celebrating a goal against Arsenal

Manchester United come into this game after thrashing RB Leipzig 5-0. The Red Devils put in an empathic performance against the semi-finalists of last year’s Champions League. Marcus Rashford continued his splendid European form with a hat-trick against the German Red Bull team. David De Gea is also in superb form following the arrival of Dean Henderson as second choice goalkeeper. This goes to show that when you have quality replacement behind you, you have to be at the top of your game.

What was once a title decider has now become a top 4 finish decider. The quality may not be there, but the next generation has taken massive steps to improve. Both teams boast of quality players and emerging managers. The match shall always be competitive however. It will be interesting to see how Rashford and Co. get past new boy Thomas Partey. The latter is a proven defensive midfielder and is more than capable of handling threats. Couple that with his passing range and you’ve got a robust midfielder.

The likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicholas Pepe and Bukayo Saka will be relishing the opportunity to play against a leaky defense. Alexandre Lacazette will be hoping to regain his form against this opponents. Likewise Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes will be relishing this midfield battle.

Predictions

Going by form, Manchester United are poised to win this match as they will be flying high on confidence. Ole Gunnar Solkjaer might make the choice of a midfield diamond with Paul Pogba on the left and might also choose to use Rashford in an early substitute role. Similar to his role against RB Leipzig, Rashford might be used for his pace against a tired defense.

We predict a 2-0 win for Manchester United and for them to climb up the table.
