As per latest reports, PUBG Mobile Global version will stop functioning for the players who are living in Korea and Japan from 30th June,2021. This move comes few months after PUBG Mobile Global version was banned by the Indian government in the country as it was considered a threat to nation’s security.

PUBG Mobile has retained a frontline position in battle-royale games with some other games like Free Fire and Call of Duty. It is one of best-selling, highest grossing games of all time. The game has also been recently nominated for ‘ESports Game of the Year 2021’. In addition to this, PUBG Mobile Global version accumulated 1 billion downloads as of March 2021 and also grossed $4.3 billion on mobile devices as of December 2020.

PUBG Mobile Global version to become inoperative in Korea and Japan

Players inhabiting Korea and Japan will not be able to play the global version of PUBG Mobile starting from June 30,2021. However, they can still continue with the local version of the game i.e the KRJP version which is specially designed for players residing there.

When the players opened the PUBG Mobile global version, the following notice appears in their screen:

"To our players in Japan and Korea, due to certain adjustments in PUBG Mobile, starting from June 30th, 2021 (23:59:59), PUBG Mobile will no longer support service in Japan and Korea.Players in Japan and Korea should download the respective regional versions. Thank you for your continued support of PUBG Mobile!"

There is also a download button in the notice which can help the players to download the regional version of the game.

Not only this, players residing outside Korea and Japan won’t be able to download or play the KRJP version anymore as the developers of PUBG Mobile Korea had announced that this version would not be operational in any other country except Korea and Japan. PUBG Mobile Korea stated that these changes are necessary so that the services of the game are duly provided in their respective country.

This move has a casted a shadow of gloom towards those players who played the Korean version of the game as it gave comparitively more rewards than the other versions.
