Afghanistan defeated Zimbabwe today on the fifth day of the second and final test to level the series at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. After posting a mammoth total of 545/4 in the first innings and bowling out Zimbabwe for 287, Afghanistan looked like favorites to win. But Sean Williams came up with a stunning knock to thwart their hopes and made it difficult for them by taking the lead following the enforcement of the follow-on. Victory was sealed when Afghanistan chased down the target of 108 with ease.

Rashid Khan bowled 99.2 overs in the test

Rashid Khan picked up a total of 11 wickets for Afghanistan in the second test and is making a habit to lead the side’s bowling single-handedly. He also bowled a grand total of 99.2 overs in the match which is the highest overs that have ever been bowled by a single player in a test match played in the 21st century. His haul of overs was the highest since Muttiah Muralitharan bowled 113.5 overs against England in 1998.

The dependable Rashid Khan is going from strength to strength in his career and he only looks set to break more and more records with the passing of time. It is scary that he is just 22 and with at least 15 years left in him, this is a man destined for greatness in cricket.
