Former Italian defender reckons that Spanish giants Real Madrid always need players like world masters Kylian Mbappe, but it will be tough to get him away from a club like Paris St. Germain.
As Real Madrid are known to spend millions for top players bit but this time it would be difficult to bring this young Frenchman to the side, reckoned Cannavaro.
Madrid needs players like Mbappe, a young star who could follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo,” Cannavaro was quoted as saying by as.com.
“It’s normal that Madrid wants to sign him but it also has to be taken into account that PSG’s owners don’t need the money. They are ambitious and they want to win the Champions League. I think it will be difficult for Madrid to get him. The president of PSG is a person who wants to win, I know them well and they will fight tooth and nail to keep Mbappe,” he added.
Cannavaro, the 36 years old commended former Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta was also the last defender to win prestigious Ballon d’Or.
Iniesta was a sandwich in between two Euro titles as he assisted Spain to win the World Cup in 2010 and was also a part of the Barcelona team that achieved various domestic and European titles.
“He played with such style, you couldn’t help but love him when you saw him play,” Cannavaro said.
“He was a perfectly professional, very humble…I loved him. Everybody might have been watching Messi but I was watching Iniesta,” he added.
