Resumption of training of Japanese national team postponed

Nippon Badminton Association(NBA) has postponed the resumption of training of the national team. Players were set to return to training at the Ajinomoto National training Center, Tokyo from June 19th

As per reports by Sponichi, a Japanese daily, the resumption has been delayed due to increasing cases of COVID19 in Tokyo. Thus the camp has been postponed, considering safety of athletes and staff.

The anticipated return of Japanese star Kento Momota is also delayed.

Earlier, Japan lifted the state of national emergency in most regions on 14 May and the rest of the regions last week. During the NBA Board meeting held on 30th May, the decision to resume training was made. The NBA also had issues with securing a second center to resume training
