Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is currently in his prime form since the Test series in Australia. The left-hander played exceptionally well at the historic Gabba Test that helped India clinch a 2-1 series win.

Pant also emerged as the third-highest run-getter for the national side during the recently-concluded Test series against England. He amassed 270 runs in six innings at a healthy average of 54. The southpaw played a scintillating knock during the second ODI as well where he smashed 77 runs off just 40 deliveries.

Former Pakistan cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq also leapt praises for the flamboyant batsman’s knock against England. The veteran player mentioned that he’s been following Pant for the past 6-7 months and it’s amazing for him to see the youngster bat so well at various positions.

“The one who gave India the boost in batting in the lower order was Rishabh Pant, who scored a brilliant 77 off 40 balls. Because of him, India’s run-rate spiked. I have been following him for the last 6-7 months, and the way he is batting and scoring effectively at different positions is amazing,” said Inzamam while taking on his YouTube channel.

Inzamam-ul-Haq drew a comparison between former wicketkeeper-batsmen Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni. Haq reckoned that Pant might go past the two legends if he continues to play in his current form.

“The way he expresses himself and the range of strokes he has, I have seen it only in two wicketkeeper batsmen in the last 30-35 years, MS Dhoni and Adam Gilchrist. These were the two wicket-keepers who could change a match. The kind of performance Rishabh Pant is giving, if he continues to play in the same manner, he will leave both of them behind, and by quite some distance,” concluded Haq.
