Rishi Kapoor : A Person Who Contributed In Every field Through Cinema Including Sports

Rishi Kapoor, known for his work in films like Bobby and Chandni, was treated in New York for cancer and returned to Mumbai last year. Rishi Kapoor has died in a hospital in Mumbai at the age of 67. He fought a long battle with cancer.

Yesterday, his brother Randhir Kapoor confirmed to news agency that the actor had been taken to hospital in the morning. “He is in the hospital. He is suffering from cancer and he has some breathing problem, so he has been admitted to the hospital. He is stable now,” Randhir Kapoor told.

Rishi Kapoor belonged to a film dynasty that spans several generations – his father, Raj Kapoor, was among India’s most revered actors and filmmakers.

This is the film fraternity’s second loss in as many days after – Irrfan Khan.

Rishi Kapoor’s longtime friend and co-star of films such as Amar Akbar Anthony Amitabh Bachchan tweeted, “He’s gone. Rishi Kapoor, gone, just passed away. I am destroyed.”

Patiala House is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language sports drama film directed by Nikkhil Advani and starring Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. It was produced by Bhushan Kumar, Mukesh Talreja, Krishan Kumar and Twinkle Khanna.

The film released on 11 February 2011.The theatrical trailer of the film was premièred with Farah Khan’s Tees Maar Khan on 24 December 2010. Akshay Kumar plays the role of a fast bowler, loosely based upon Monty Panesar and its concept was conceived by Rahul Nanda, son of writer Gulshan Nanda.


Today Film Industry lost their another gem after Irrfan Khan. This is a great loss, not for the film industry but also for the whole world. His place will never be replaced . His work for cinema will always be remembered.
