After reaching into the playoffs for another year, Philadelphia 76ers had to again face the exit door in the 1st round. This time via the hands of Eastern Conference finalists’ Boston Celtics with a clean swap. After a disappointing and frustrating exit, the rumours spread that the road had ended for the duo of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid under the 76ers. But the newly appointed GM from Daryl Morey says this is not to be the case.

Coming from Houston, Morey would definitely not have the same shooting accuracy from behind the arc. For obvious reasons Simmons as well as Embiid have struggled. While for Houston, their way out of any clutch play was to score a 3-pointer courtesy through Harden, Tucker or Westbrook.

Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid stick together as per Daryl Morey

New General Manager for Philadelphia 76ers Daryl Morey

New GM Daryl Morey has stated that both of them are key for the 76ers. He has no doubts about their chemistry together. “I absolutely think they can work together,” Morey said. “He (Embiid) wants to win a championship. He’s a smart player who knows you only have so many opportunities. Frankly, I’m excited to go on this journey with Joel and Ben going forward,” as stated by Essentially sports.

Morey has never had a tall and as talented player as Embiid by his side. He said that it is important to win anyhow rather than looking at the way of scoring the points. Morey urged that this team could be rebuild around Embiid. There is no question about his talent. But his ability to stay healthy has been the issue. But Morey is excited about this team up, and judging by the way he spoke about Embiid, it is going to be his team.

However, currently in their fourth season together, all eyes will be on how coach Doc Rivers gets the best out of Embiid and Simmons. Both are gifted players who have the potential to be winners, but they need to stay fit and consistent.
