The NBA is all about changes. Every era has the best players. As the players move up in the decade they try to improvise their game for easy buckets. And why shouldn’t they? The game is a lot about making changes. Similarly, there has been huge surge in the number of three-point shots that are being attempted. Moreover, it has been the players like Stephen Curry and Damian Lillard who have increased the trend of 3-point shooting. In-fact before the players in 21st century, NBA was a lot about post game, layups, dunks, mid-range jump shots and great sense of passing. Keeping in mind such changes, former NBA legend Robert Horry feels NBA is not the same.

Stephen Curry is an absolute scorer. He is undoubtedly the best shooter the game has ever seen. No one would deny that he is the main reason, NBA switched towards the 3-point game. The Golden State Warriors’ star has moulded the whole league towards making a triple. Even the big men have started shooting them. Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers has a similar story. His range for shooting a 3 pointer is abnormal. It is preferably deeper than the line has to offer.

The conventional form of basketball seems fading away. Gone are those times when the team needed one or two shooters. A larger part of the game revolved around inside the paint plays. 7-time champion, Robert Harry recently opened up about his views with this drastic change. ‘Big shot Rob’, of the past conversed with ESPN and pointed out the changes. “I think for me, 30 is that tipping point,” answered Horry. “For me, I am watching the game now and it’s kind of like, ‘Who is not a three-point shooter?’ You have these bigs that cannot shoot threes and they’re shooting threes.”

He jokingly explained, “I know three is more than two, we learned this in preschool. But it doesn’t really matter if you’re 3 for 10 and you can’t shoot it. Everybody thinks that’s good. That is poor! If you’re going to shoot 10 threes, you got to make at least 6. That means you’re hot. And I blame Steph and I blame Damian… They’ve taken it to a whole new level.” He stated, “The three-game has messed up the game because now everyone thinks they can shoot it. Go back to being Joel Embiid. You see what he’s doing. I know he shoots a couple, but he’s making his bread and butter in the paint.”
