Robert Whittaker is currently on a two-fight winning streak after losing his UFC Middleweight title to Israel Adesanya. The Australian fighter has a record of 23-5-0 in the promotion. His last two wins have come against Jared Cannonier and Darren Till both by unanimous decisions.

Paulo Costa on the other hand last fought against Israel Adesanya at UFC 253 when he challenged the Kiwi for the Middleweight title at the main event. Paulo Costa ended up losing that match by a KO in the second round as Israel defended his title he won from Robert.

Both the fighters will look to win the bout in April hoping to get another shot at winning the middleweight belt. If there’s something both the fighters share in common is bad blood for the “Stylebender”. There is a potential chance for the winner of this bout to get a shot at the title now that Israel is moving up the division.

Paulo Costa determined to earn the rematch against Israel Adesanya

The Brazilian fighter suffered a second-round TKO loss to the middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. That was the first defeat in his MMA career. Costa has a record of 13-1-0. It is no surprise that revenge has been on the Brazilian’s mind since that defeat.

After his defeat, Paulo’s manager Wallid Ismail told reporters that, “It’s life or death. It’s like that for us.”

Paulo and his team are determined to knock out the Australian in April and look to defeat Israel who is fighting Jan Blachowicz. But it won’t be an easy task as Robert too will look to avenge his title loss.

Who do you think will move forward and get their rematch against Adesanya?
