Liverpool released training pictures of the squad training before the Champions League clash against RB Leipzig. Vital players like Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Thiago Alcantara, Sadio Mane and Alisson Becker were present in the training session. Roberto Firmino and James Milner were notably absent from the session, casting doubts over their participation in the match tomorrow.

Of late Roberto Firmino has been abysmal and has been letting the team down with his bad performances. Once touted as the player who connects Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, he is now being carried by the two of them while being a passenger himself. Mohamed Salah has borne the weight of scoring goals as Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are both out of form.

Diogo Jota will be expected to take his place in the starting XI and he will have to bear the responsibility of scoring goals. He has however just returned from injury and will be expected to take some time to regain his momentum. In the meanwhile, Firmino will have to do something to change his fortunes as Liverpool might just replace him in the summer. They need a proper and pure No.9 who can score goals from half-chances and that is something Firmino just cannot do.

Having not participated in today’s training session, it can be expected that both Roberto Firmino and James Milner will be absent from the match.
