Roger Federer makes his much-awaited comeback at the Qatar Open next week. Tennis fans all over the world cannot control their excitement as they get to witness their idol back in action. The Swiss maestro remained on the sidelines ever since his Australian Open 2020 semifinal loss to Novak Djokovic, because of knee injury. After going through two surgeries and a rehabilitation program, Federer returns to action at the Qatar Open, starting March 8.

In a live Q & A session with the Qatar Open Instagram handle, Roger Federer was asked about his best moment on the tennis court. The Swiss maestro stated that winning the 2003 Wimbledon Championships was the most incredible moment of his career. He added that becoming the world number one in 2004 for the first time was another special moment in his long career.

My best moment on a tennis court? Probably it has to be winning my first Wimbledon title in 2003. It was the most incredible moment. And then becoming world No. 1 a few months later in 2004. Making all the way there is something I never thought I would do,” the Swiss said.

Roger Federer stated that winning the Wimbledon Championships in 2003 was a special moment in his career. The Swiss lifted his first Grandslam title after he defeated Mark Philippoussis in straight sets in the Wimbledon 2003 final. It was a rather comfortable victory over the Swiss, who won in straight sets, 7-6,6-2,7-6.

Roger Federer started the tournament as the fourth seed and was dominant throughout the two weeks. The Swiss dropped just one set in all of his seven matches to mark an incredible run. From there on, there was no stopping Federer at Wimbledon. The 20 time Grandslam champion won five consecutive Wimbledon’s from 2003-2007, defeating the likes of Andy Roddick and Rafael Nadal. However, his remarkable run was cut short by Rafael Nadal who defeated him in the finals in 2008.
