Roger Federer to be out of action after knee surgery, to return in 2021

Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer confirmed that he will not be in action in 2020 season due to his second knee surgery in a matter of months.

The 38-year-old started his statement with “Dear Fans.” “A few weeks ago, having experienced a setback during my initial rehabilitation, I had to have an additional quick arthroscopic procedure on my right knee,” he posted.

“Now, much as I did leading up to the 2017 season, I plan to take the necessary time to be 100% ready to play at my highest level.

“I will look forward to seeing everyone back on tour at the start of the 2021 season.”

Earlier this year, Federer was defeated by Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the Australian Open. Due to the spread of the coronavirus outbreak, no other grand slam has carried out as all the tennis tournament were on halt in March.

Swiss Maestro, is the most successful men’s player in the professional tennis’s history with the 20 grand slam titles while his rivals Rafael Nadal (19) and Djokovic (17) are looking more chances to surpass him.
