As the two boxing legends are set to clash in September and some doctors have warned the two of serious injuries, Roy Jones Jr has admitted that he can get seriously injured when he steps into the ring with Mike Tyson.
A few days ago, it was announced that Mike Tyson (54) will make a comeback to the ring in the form of an eight-round exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr (51).
Mike Tyson will be fighting professionally after 15 years and the fight is being highly anticipated after the former heavyweight champion posted a series of clips on social media where he can be seen training and displaying his famous power.
On the other hand, Jones Jr is equally a boxing icon and has been called by some as the finest pure boxing talent to have ever competed in the sport.
Roy has fought professionally two years ago and still he admitted the fear of injuries. He said, “His legs are huge and his thighs are huge,” Jones Jr told World Boxing News. “His arms are huge and his neck is huge! It’s very risky, yes. But God’s in control of all.”
Jones Jr says he is ready
However, Jones Jr has competed against the biggest boxing men before and has also won recognized world titles that too in four weight class. He wants to remind people what he can do against the bigger opponents.
He said, “(Previously) I was beating everybody in every weight class I was in, so what are you gonna do? It’s like David and Goliath. He’s a giant monster, we know. I’m little David and all I’ve got is God on my side, which is all I’m gonna need.”
At last, he said that he was ready and asked his fans for support. “I was always ready and will be ready this time as well. I want all my fans to support me and tune in. It’s gonna be epic”, Jones Jr added.
