Washington Wizards’ Russell Westbrook and Houston Rockets’ John Wall both got double technical for some animated trash talking during Rockets win over Wizards today. The double technical were assessed when the Rockets were 94-81 up in the 4th quarter of the game. John Wall led his team with 24 points. Whereas Russell Westbrook scored a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds registered against his name.

Both teams haven’t been doing particularly well in their respective conferences so far. Although neither has played even a quarter of the season, but their rankings are pretty bad. Washington is placed last in the Eastern Conference. Whereas Rockets have won 3 consecutive games, yet find themselves placed 11th in the Western Conference.

Washington sent Wall, whom the Wizards took with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, to the Rockets along with a lottery-protected 2023 first-round NBA draft choice for Westbrook before the season.

John Wall and Russell Westbrook provide their side of the story

After the game, Wall spoke with reporters about the back-and-forth between him and Westbrook.

“Trash talking. That’s what two competitive guys do,” Wall said. “Russ been kicking my ass for years. He’s a hell of a talent. This ain’t the first time we’ve trash talked before.”

Westbrook also provided remarks to reporters:

“I don’t start talking s–t. I just defend myselfpeople just say anythingespecially when I know the facts. I think they just started talking s–t because they started to win at that time. It’s all right. We play them again.”

Having said that, the Houston Rockets will look to continue their winning streak when they face Portland Trail Blazers next. As far as the, Washington Wizards are concerned, their next task is to battle it out against New Orleans Pelicans.
