Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital after a long battle with cancer.

The actor’s spokesperson said in a statement, “I trust I have surrendered’ – These were some of the many words that Irrfan expressed in a heart felt note he wrote in 2018 opening up about his fight with cancer”.

Irrfan was admitted to the hospital’s ICU on April 28th, following a colon infection. He took his last breath on 29th of April.

Most of the sports players paid tribute to the Pan Singh Tomar Actor, by writing it out in their own words on their twitter account.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar wrote, “Sad to hear the news of Irfan khan passes away. He was one of my favorites and almost I’ve watched all his films, the last one being Angrezi medium. Acting came so effortlessly to him, he was just terrific. May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to his loved ones.”

Indian Badminton player, Sania Nehwal tweeted on her twitter account ” With the legend during one ad shoot…. Great memories sir. #RIPirfankhan”. Like her, other sportsperson has also tweeted and paid tribute to Irfan khan.

Skipper of the Indian Cricket team, Virat Kohli showed his grief on his twitter account and wrote that “Sadness of hear about the passing of irfan khan. What a phenomenal talent and dearly touched everyone’s heart with his versatility. May God give peace to his soul”.

Star cricketer, Gautam Gambhir wrote, “There are actors who have the ability to move you with every performance, irrespective of role or medium! Irrfan Khan was one of those rare gems! Indispensable. He went too soon! RIP!”

Indian Wrestler Sushil Kumar wrote, “Shocked to hear of the demise of one of the most talented actor of our country Irrfan Khan.. May his soul rest in peace.”

Indian Football Team’s official Twitter account wrote,

Manpreet Singh, Yogeshwar Dutt and many other celebrities and sports persons offered their condolences on social media.

Irfan Khan made his screen debut with a small role in Salaam Bombay! (1988), which was followed by years of struggle. His last movie was Angrezi Medium but due to his health issue he didn’t go for any promotions of his film.
