Save the test match: Irfan Pathan urges fans to stay home using cricket reference

Former Indian Bowling-allrounder, Irfan Pathan has requested the citizens of the country by using his cricket analogy to stay at home if they want to stay away from the deadly Coronavirus.

He tweeted, “The coronavirus is like a bowling machine. It is controlled and bowling outside the off stump. As long as we aren’t touching the away going deliveries we will be fine n eventually we will save our wicket and save the test match for our country.”

Irfan Pathan was India’s best bowling all-rounder of his time and played almost all formats. When he was a regular member of The Indian Cricket team, they won The Inaugral ICC World T20 in 2007. Pathan was only 19, when he got picked for the National team and such was his ability, that people that time started comparing him with Pakistan’s Wasim Akram.

Earlier today, PM Narendra Modi announced that the country will remain in lockdown till 3rd of May 2020 in order to control the spread of the Novel coronavirus. However, the lockdown was slated to end today i.e 14 April, but due to the rising number of positive cases, the need to expand the lockdown occurred.

The cases of COVID-19 pandemic have climbed to 10,815 the sharpest increase of 1,463 and 29 deaths have been examined in the last 24 hours.
