Sean O’Malley has a decent record of 12-1-0. The “Suga” is coming off a defeat against Marlon Vera. Sean lost to Vera in a 1st round Knockout on 16 August 2020. The fight against Thomas will be his first since then. O’Malley was also famously known for his devastating foot injury which he later recovered from.

Meanwhile, his opponent to be, Thomas Almeida hasn’t been in the best of forms for quite some time. The Brazilian’s last win came from a Knockout against Albert Morales in 2016. For 4 years Almeida hasn’t had a taste of victory. Thomas would be looking to seize the fixture against Sean and make a strong comeback.

As per source, verbal agreements for the fight have been done. O’Malley also said that he’s received his contract for the bout. Sean also revealed that Almeida at first rejected the offer for a fight at UFC 258 at the UFC Apex, Las Vegas.

“He turned it down, he said my right hand was too powerful or something along those lines of COVID or something, so he turned the fight down,” O’Malley said. “Good decision on his part would have been a nasty KO.”
