Serie A: AC Milan vs Lazio Player Ratings as Milan find the tough way towards victory in San Siro

Serie A: AC Milan vs Lazio

AC Milan got a comfortable 2-0 win against a revitalized Lazio side as they succeed in gaining the win despite having less time on the ball, and Lazio dominating the ball throughout. Goals from Rafael Leao and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were enough to give Milan the win despite Kessie missing from 12 yards.

AC Milan started the half well, but Lazio slowly grew into the game. Although, most of the first half was a bit dull, but it livened up in the dying minutes. Milan created four big chances, but finally managed to score in the 45th minute when Rafael Leao carried the ball from his own half, and finished the move himself after linking up with Rebic. Milan got a golden opportunity to seal the game, but Kessie’s penalty rattled the crossbar in the 6th additional minute.

The second half started with Lazio trying to penetrate the AC Milan defense but they could not stop the inevitable as Zlatan tapped the easiest chance in after an amazing move by Rebic in the 67th minute. Lazio could not create a big chance all game despite having more possession of the ball.

AC Milan

AC Milan

Mike Magnan: 7/10

Not much to work for Milan’s first choice as he had answers to the few questions that Lazio asked in the game, and looked comfortable guarding the goal.

Davide Calabria: 7/10

A very decent outing for the right back as he burst into attacks a couple of times and made some good passes parallel to the touchline off through the wings.

Alessio Romagnoli: 7/10

A solid performance from the AC Milan captain as he was one of the main characters in the show of dominating the Lazio attackers.

Fikayo Tomori: 8/10

A solid game for the English center back as he alongside Romagnoli pocketed the Lazio attack for most part of the game.

Theo Hernandez: 7/10

Theo was running a lot in the game and was doing both attack and defense amazingly. Made some important passes in the opposite half.

Sandro Tonali: 7/10

An impressive game playing as the sitter in the midfield three as Tonali shielded the defense well from his position.

Franck Kessie: 6/10

An average game for Kessie in the midfield as he could not get himself into the scoresheet although had a decent time off the ball.

Alessandro Florenzi: 6/10

Florenzi got a decent game in his bag despite playing out of position n the right wing and could register only one shot.

Brahim Diaz: 6/10

Brahim Diaz was busy in the game and was also keeping all the defenders busy with his dribbles, but they were not up to the point.

Rafael Leao: 8/10

A real menace in the opposition third as Rafael Leao once again was one of the best performers of the team and his break for the first goal was breathtaking.

Ante Rebic: 9/10

One of the best, if not the best, in the evening as his killer instinct gave AC Milan a resounding victory. Rebic registered two assists and his move for the second goal was amazing.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic: 8/10

This substitution proved to be the game-changer as Zlatan came back from his injury layoff of 4 months to immediately seal the game.

Alexis Saelemaekers: 7/10

Picked up from where he left off as it was another good outing for Saelemaekers and he is continuing to rise with his play.

Tiemoue Bakayoko: 5/10

Bakayoko was supposed to get gametime but it wasn’t what he expected as he had to go off due to an injury after receiving a yellow too.

Ismail Bennacer: NA

Lazio

Pepe Reina: 6/10

Reina tried his best to make most of the game but also could not do anything in the goals as they were quite straightforward with the keeper having no chance.

Adam Marusic: 5/10

Marusic should have done better with the second goal they conceded as he missed his man but other than that it was a decent performance.

Luiz Felipe: 6/10

Felipe dropped a mixed performance as he looked good at times but was also careless on the ball due to which they looked poor.

Francesco Acerbi: 5/10

A day to forget for Acerbi as he not only lost balls due to poor passes, but also looked really lazy in the whole of the evening.

Elseid Hysaj: 6/10

Hysaj could have definitely done better in the game but it was an average display against Florenzi in the first half.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic: 6/10

A very silent game for SMS and he would also be disappointed not to hit any shot on target despite getting decent chances outside the box.

Lucas Leiva: 7/10

Lucas has to be one of the best Lazio players on the pitch in a poor show as he was an engine for the team, winning possession and keeping the ball.

Luis Alberto: 4/10

A very poor show from Alberto as he did not only lose the ball with passes and got dispossessed a lot, but he also failed to keep the ball.

Pedro: 6/10

Looked good at times but Pedro could not continue his good run of games and struggled a lot in the San Siro today.

Ciro Immobile: 5/10

Frustrating evening for their star-man as Immobile tried a lot but it was not his night and he did nothing to support the others too.

Felipe Anderson: 6/10

A very silent first half from Anderson where a half chance was the only highlight. Started the 2nd half well when he had space in a couple of instances, but just was not his night.

Substitutes

Mattia Zaccagini: 5/10

Benassi added nothing to the side coming on as he had a disappointing outing yet again.

Manuel Lazzari: 6/10

Could register only 16 touches in the 25 minutes that he got after replacing Marusic. A disappointing show for the right back.
