Inter Milan continued their good form in the Serie A as they registered yet another victory this time against Fiorentina. After conceding early on in the first half, goals from Matteo Darmian, Edin Dzeko and Ivan Perisic ensured Milan got all three points. Sottil scored the opener for Fiorentina but Nicolas Gonzalez got a red card in the second half and was sent off.
Fiorentina gave their level best but just couldn’t get over the line. With that, let’s have a look at how the player’s performed :
Samir Handanovic (7/10)- Although Handanovic conceded tonight, he was called into action multiple times and was upto the task.
Milan Skriniar, (7/10)- The defender had to be at his best tonight as Inter Milan’s defence lost concentration on many occasions. He had to make some tackles at the mistakes of his teammates.
Stefan De Vrij (6/10)- A decent performance from the Dutch defender who stepped up his game in the second half.
Alessandro Bastoni(6/10)- Bastoni was not that effective tonight and was not participating much in the attacking game.
Matteo Darmian (8/10) – A very important goal by Matteo Darmian at an important time for Inter Milan as he hit the ball into the bottom left corner.
Nicolo Barella(7/10)- Unfortunately Barella after his great performance last matchday was weak today in possession and lost the ball many times. However he did manage to squeeze in the assist for the equaliser.
Marcelo Brozovic(6/10) –The Croatian international was not at his best tonight and was not able to make space.
Hakan Calhanoglu,(7/10)- Calhanoglu was extremely bright today and forced some good saves from the Fiorentina Goalkeeper. Moreover he got the cross for Edin Dzeko’s header.
Ivan Perisic (8/10)- The forward was combining well with Hakan Calhanoglu and was caught offside on one occasion after a through ball by the latter. He got his reward as he scored the third goal.
Edin Dzeko(8/10)- Edin Dzeko is currently on another level for Inter Milan as he registered yet another goal after heading in the cross from Halkan Calhanoglu.
Lautaro Martinez.(7/10)- Lautaro Martinez started poorly but slowly found his feet. He missed a good opportunity after a cross by Brozovic
Alexis Sanchez (6/10)- Alexis Sanchez replaced goal scorer Edin Dzeko and missed an opportunity after coming on.
Denzel Dumfries (6/10)- The Netherlands international was brought in to replace Matteo Darmian who scored the equaliser.
Matias Vecino (6/10)- Vecino who scored a goal last day was brought on to replace midfielder Nico Barella.
Roberto Gagliardini (7/10)- Gagliardini replaced Halkan Calhanoglu who had a great game tonight. Gagliardini himself assisted Ivan Perisic.
Federico Dimarco (6/10)- The defender was brought on as Inter Milan looked to close the game taking off Lautaro Martinez.
Bartlomiej Dragowski(5/10) – Didn’t have the best performance tonight for Fiorentina and was sloppy as he lost the ball to Calhanoglu who set free Sanchez whose shot was high.
Marco Benassi(6/10)- Defensively Benassi could have been better but contributed to the attacking play with a strong shot in the first half which was blocked.
Nikola Milenkovic (5/10)- The Serbian centre back left far too much space for Edin Dzeko to exploit at times.
Matija Nastasic (5/10)- Was not able to cope up with the pace of Halkan Calhanoglu who managed to get loose far too many times.
Cristiano Biraghi(6/10)- The Italian left back advanced to attacking positions at times in the first half.
Giacomo Bonaventura (5/10)- A disappointing game for Bonaventura who could have been better in his passing.
Lucas Torreira(6/10)- The Uruguayan player had a decent game and covered a lot of ground today having operated from the defensive midfielder role.
Alfred Duncan(6/10)- The midfielder had an average game for Fiorentina and had an opportunity to shoot after the pass from Sottil but his shot was too high.
Nicolas Gonzalez (5/10)- The forward had a good strong shot to the left in the starting minutes saved by Handanovic. Moreover he got the assist to Sottil for the first goal. But in the end everything was for waste as he received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 78th minute.
Dusan Vlahovic (6/10)- Made good connection with a left footed shot which was going down the line into the top centre of the goal. Also made good progress with Biraghi.
Riccardo Sottil.(8/10)- The goalscorer for Fiorentina had a great game as his powerful shot from the right hand side of the penalty box found a way into the top corner
Jose Callejon (5/10)- The striker came on in the dying minutes to replace midfielder Bonaventura.
Aleksandr Kokorin(5/10)- The striker was brought in for midfielder Alfred Duncan.
Riccardo Saponara(5/10) – This was a strange substitute for Fiorentina who replaced their attacking threat Sottil.
Sofyan Amrabat(5/10)- The midfielder was brought on for a like to like replacement with Lucas Torreira.
Alvaro Odriazola (6/10)- The Real Madrid CF youngster came on early but didn’t impress that much coming on for Benassi.
