Serie A will not resume this season due to the spread of coronavirus outbreak

Across the world, all the sporting activities have come to halt as the coronavirus is spreading day by day. Italy football competition Serie A is going to be stop for the season 2019-20.

Earlier, it was decided to held the season behind the doors then season was postponed in March due to the spread of coronavirus. But today Italian Football Federation declared that the season will not resume till the conditions comes under control.

The statement from Serie A says, ” Serie A Council that met today unanimously confirmed its intention to complete the 2019-2020 season, if the government allows it to take place in full compliance with the rules for the protection of health and safety.”

Further added, “The resumption of sporting activity, in the so-called Phase 2, will take place in accordance with the regulations laid out by FIFA and UEFA, with the decisions of the FIGC as well as in compliance with the medical protocols for the protection of footballers and all professionals.”

Defending champions Juventus were a point clear of Lazio after 26 matches, before the suspension of Serie A.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, all the National or International sporting events have been cancelled and postponed.
